Rex is afraid he's just coasting through life on the supernatural gift of luck from Luna herself. Combined with his father's expectations that he desperately wants to meet, Rex consequently overcompensates with an aggressive demeanor. That attitude comes off to some as being a chauvinist pig even though he really isn't.
